These data depict the area within the West Coast Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) that is seaward of straight line approximating the 700-fathom depth contour off Washington, Oregon, and California and within the area identified as Essential Fish Habitat (EFH).
The coordinate locations are from NMFS' Final Rule to implement Amendment 19 to the Pacific Coast Groundfish Fishery Management Plan (71 FR 27408; May 11, 2006). The official coordinates for the 700-fm line are given in Section 660.396 of the Final Rule.
