This data set is the spatial documentation of the Coos County Offshore Wave Energy Project preliminary permit application. The Project is to be sited in the Pacific Ocean in Coos County, Oregon, just north of the Curry County line and southwest of the City of Bandon. The site is situated within the state boundary in the open ocean about 2 to 4 miles from shore in water depths that range from 20 to 40 fathoms (40 - 75 m). The approximate dimensions of the proposed site are 3 mile wide (east-west direction) by 7.8 miles long (in the north-south direction). The final installed wave facility will require significantly less area than that proposed in the preliminary permit.
